Rob Havenstein Youth Jersey , Japan, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- Two fishing boats capsized after collision with a cargo ship off the western Japanese prefecture of Wakayama on Friday morning, leaving two crew members on the fishing boats dead, local press reported.
The collisions occurred at around 8:00 a.m. local time when the two fishing boats, which belong to a local fisheries cooperative in the prefecture, collided with the 499-ton cargo ship about three kilometers off the coastline of Yura Town of the prefecture

The report cited Japan Coast Guard officials as saying that all the three fishermen were thrown into the water from their boats which overturned after the collisions, and teams of local coast guard rescued them and carried them to hospitals, but two of those rescued later died.
The coast guard have started investigation into details of the incident.
