guadagnare su internet Forum - My Golf R's water pump just gave up – any VW gurus in Sharjah? Clara Trencrom (Invitato)
| | Well, it finally happened – the dreaded water pump failure on my 2018 Golf R that I've been dreading ever since I bought the car. I was driving back from Dubai yesterday and suddenly noticed the temperature gauge creeping up higher than usual, and when I pulled over to check, there was coolant dripping from underneath the engine bay. I managed to limp it home and topped up the coolant but it's clearly leaking from somewhere and I'm about 99% sure it's the water pump housing, which from what I've read is a pretty common issue on these EA888 engines. The thing is, I know this isn't a simple job because the water pump is buried under the intake manifold and you have to remove quite a bit of stuff to get to it, so I really don't want to take it to a garage that's never worked on a VW before and ends up breaking clips or losing bolts or messing up the timing chain tensioner while they're in there. I've had the car for about three years now and I absolutely love it, but this is the first major issue I've had and I want to make sure it gets fixed properly the first time. A buddy of mine who drives a GTI mentioned that This leading Volkswagen repair shop in Sharjah actually sees these cars all the time and knows all the little tricks to get the job done efficiently without causing collateral damage. That sounds like exactly what I need because I've heard horror stories about water pump replacements going wrong and causing even more expensive problems down the line. I'm planning to get it towed there tomorrow but I'd really love to hear from anyone who's had this specific job done on their Golf or Audi and can tell me what to expect in terms of cost, time, and whether there's anything else I should have them replace while they're in there, like the thermostat or the belt tensioner. Really appreciate any advice you guys can share because I'm a bit stressed about this whole situation. |
