guadagnare su internet Forum - Is a specialist inspection worth it for a used Mercedes? George White (Invitato)
| | I've been hunting for a used Mercedes C-Class for a few weeks now and finally found one that seems promising, but the seller is one of those guys who says everything is perfect and doesn't have much paperwork to back it up. I've heard these cars can have expensive issues with the air suspension and electronics that don't show up on a short test drive, and I'm not confident enough to spot them myself. A friend told me I should look into a Trusted Mercedes pre-purchase inspection in Dubai, but I'm not sure if that's overkill or actually necessary. Has anyone here gone through a proper inspection on a used Mercedes? Did it catch something the seller tried to hide? I'm in Dubai and the car is in Sharjah, so I'm also wondering if mobile inspectors travel between emirates. The seller is pushing me to decide soon, which makes me a bit nervous, and I don't want to rush into something I'll regret. Any real experiences would really help me decide. | | | | Vance Berger (Invitato)
| | Not overkill. A seller with "everything is perfect" and no paperwork is exactly the situation inspections exist for. Ask for the Mercedes dealer service history by VIN first, since a gap in the records tells you something before you spend a dirham. | | | | Ross Bernard (Invitato)
| | Quick note, most C-Classes don't have air suspension unless they're fitted with the Airmatic option, so check the spec before worrying about it. The pressure to decide quickly bothers me more than the Sharjah location. Make the sale conditional on an inspection and watch how he reacts. | | | | Clint Berry (Invitato)
| | Had a C250 checked in Sharjah a while back after the seller swore it was spotless. The inspector found a resprayed front wing and a slow oil weep at the valve cover, and I got a fair chunk knocked off. The written report with photos was worth the fee on its own. | | | | Rex Best (Invitato)
| | A decent check should include a full scan of all modules, not only the engine, plus paint readings on every panel, gearbox behaviour on the test drive, and a look underneath for leaks and worn mounts. Mobile covers most of that but the underside needs a lift. Ask upfront whether they travel to Sharjah and if there's a call-out fee. |
